Governor Christie ordered 12 counties to begin odd-even gas rationing on Saturday, November 3, at noon. Monmouth is one of them but Ocean County is not.

Odd dates for odd numbered license plates and even dates for even numbered plates will go into effect with no date for ending as of yet. Plates with no numbers will be considered odd.

Right now about 95% of the gas stations south of I 195 are open while north of that, only 25% are. Christie called the situation the, “tale of two states.”

Gas lines have been wreaking havoc on traffic trying to get around those line, motorists patience and of course the police officers who have to monitor the situation.
