Into the Woods...Great performance by the Maple Place School

Oceanport:   The children of Maple Place School put on a production of Into the Woods Junior. It is a part of The Broadway Junior Collection™. The children performed an excellent rendition of the Tony Award winning play. The play is an interwoven adaption of several Brother Grimm’s Fairy tales intertwining the stories of Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella, Rapunzel, and Jack and the Bean Stalk.

The cast included 8th grader Nicole Cebulko as Cinderella, who starred last year in Beauty and the Beast. Her co-star, 6th grader Gabby Scerbo, starred as Red Riding Hood. Jimmy Kirk recorded his fourth performance at Maple Place with this production, starring as the Baker. Hope Allem a seventh grader stared as the Baker’s wife.

The lead actors performed the play with precision and excellence. They executed the musical aspects with beauty and grace. The set design and lighting was executed with great creativity and care, transforming the school auditorium into a mythical forest.

Director Erica Siegel created a stunning production of the Into the Woods. It was her seventh production at the Maple Place Middle School. Also back for another year was Dj Brown as co-director, who helped contribute to the success of the play. The show ran three nights and all were meet with great success.

Into the Woods and into our hearts.   Thanks kids!
