Shore Players 50th Anniversary ***UPDATED PHOTO GALLERY***
West Long Branch: The Shore Players first performance was in 1962 when the group presented “How to Succeed in Theater Without Really Trying”. That set the tone for fifty more years and more than 70 Broadway hits brought to the Jersey Shore. Once again, the troupe, joined by veterans alike, returned to entertain at a golden replay of 50 years of theater excellence.
Those talented performers who sang the songs originally at Shore brought them back with perfection. The show was well received. The choreography was exquisitely designed to accommodate the simple stage settings and to optimize the abundance of talent. Musical accompaniment was simply grand. Once the lights went down, it was theater at its best.
An intermission featured finger foods and some tasty deserts served up by student volunteers dressed to the nines. A full half hour was allowed to give friends a chance to mix.
Staffs of stage hands, costume creators, and maintenance professionals were all part of the moment. Many were parents and family helpers and all were part of the team that helped to make the 50th Anniversary a grand success.
Bravo! Well done!
