Long Branch: On Sunday October 7th The Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch and New Brunswick will host the 2nd annual Ride for the Ronald McDonald House, with special guest, Ronald McDonald. This family-friendly bicycle event, presented by IOA Insurance Office of America, in conjunction with the Children’s Hospital of Monmouth Medical Center will begin at the Monmouth Medical Center Community Connection Parking Lot off Second Ave in Long Branch and will raise money to support the families who stay at RMH.
Whether you are an expert, intermediate or recreational rider, there will be a route for you:
·The Family Ride - 15 miles
·Touring Ride 30 miles
·The Metric Century - 62.5 miles
·The Century - 100 miles (NEW)
·We even have a children’s bicycle rodeo.
Registration starts at 7:30am (rain or shine). Bagels and coffee will be provided as well as snack stations along the routes, and volunteers and bike mechanics on-site to answer questions and offer assistance. New this year: There will also be a BBQ starting at 12 noon at RMH (131 Bath Avenue) for all participants.
Adults pay an entry fee of $35 (whether you are riding individually, or as a team). Adults raising an additional $300 or teams of 2 more that raise an additional $250 per rider will receive an official “Ride for RMH” bike jersey. Student entry fee is $25 (up to HS) Student individuals raising an additional $200 will get an official • “Ride for RMH” bike jersey Student teams of 2 or more riders that raise $150 per rider will • get an official “Ride for RMH” bike jersey Children 12 and under - Free!
2012 marks the 25th anniversary of the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch and New Brunswick. Over the last 25 years RMH has provided a “home away from home” for thousands of families of seriously ill children who receive care at medical facilities near the locations in Long Branch and New Brunswick, NJ.
