A Christmas Sing at Woolley Park

West Long Branch:  The 82ndAnnual Christmas Sing went off on schedule at Woolley Park on Locust and Cedar Avenues with Mayor Janet Tucci welcoming the hundred or so bundled up songsters.  The cold was a good reason to move about as all joined in with gusto – a full holiday spirit.

Councilman and choral vocalist Tom DeBruin led the music as Reverend Fred Boyle, Pastor at Old First offered a prayer for peace and hope for the year ahead. Traditional carols and songs of the season were provided on song sheets as residents gathered.

Safety was a top priority as police re-routed traffic briefly.  Police spotlights mounted on an elevated tower added to the visibility in the park.  The light helped home photographers get the activity on film.

Closing with “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” the Mayor and Council, and Santa wished all a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year.
