LONG BRANCH: The Jersey Blues and Barry Stein: "Perfect Together
The Jersey Blues Foundation presented Barry Stein with its the Great Promoter Award on Sunday evening, Aug. 9, at Blues by the Beach at West End Park.
The blues programs seem to be the love of his life. Or at least his second love; his first was seated in her lawn chair watching the ceremony unfold.
The invite for Barry to come on stage went out. A cheer went up, and Barry blushed. He earned every bit of thanks for all he has contributed, the Jersey Blues rep said for all to hear. The crowd agreed with another cheer.
The musicians on stage were the Michael Packer Band which proved Barry had made a great choice in bringing them on board. They did a super job of blues instrumentally and vocally. The crowd, some in sweaters for the offshore breeze, was delighted, feet and bodies moving to the music.
To Barry goes congratulations from Word on the Shore for all you give and have worked so hard to achieve. We hope to continue you to see you at West End, at Pier Village and at the great Lawn, the venues you have made so enjoyable for so long, 17 years.
