Bob Lanza Band Brings Blues To West End

LONG BRANCH: Sunday evening, as the sun was setting a little earlier in the day, its warm still air felt good. The music season at West End Park continued as the Jersey Shore Jazz and Blues Foundation served up more top rate performers to the band shell stage.

The summer of entertainment is sponsored by the city's Urban Enterprise Zone Program and the Foundation on Sunday evenings and again on Thursday at Pier Village.

His week the sponsors brought the Bob Lanza Band to the park and his sax, strings and keyboard to make the evening a night of listening pleasure.

For families, the park setting has swings for the kids and sidewalk restaurants for those who enjoy their eats while listening to the familiar songs and solos.

There is one more week in this 2015 season, the announcer said. Next Sunday will have the VooDudes at West End. Then on Thursday Brian Kirk and the Jirks entertain at PV.

A big event coming up is on Saturday the 29thfrom 1 to 10 p.m. at the Great Lawn at the Promenade north of the Pier Village shops and restaurants, near the Ocean Resort hotel. The Festival will feature jazz and blues artists to please all who make it, followed by a super fireworks display at dark.
