Long Branch: Last Saturday, July 21st was a special evening at the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) of Long Branch, when local Chef Pasquale Sciarappa prepared a sumptuous four course dinner for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
Lynne Siedentop, Director of Development for the Ronald McDonald House of Long Branch & New Brunswick recently reached out to the Chef to see if he would cook a meal for the families currently staying at the House. He graciously agreed and prepared an amazing four course sumptuous dinner for 16! According to Siedentop, “The delicious aromas of fresh basil and authentic, homemade tomato sauce quickly filled the house. The dinner started with an aromatic bruschetta, followed by linguini with shrimp sauce, and chicken with portabella mushrooms & capers paired with broccoli salad. The evening ended with homemade dessert of Tiramisu that was out of this world!”
Chef Sciarappa, who now resides in Long Branch, has been cooking all his life. He was taught how to cook traditional Italian recipes from his parents in Orsara di Puglia, Italy. He eventually made his way to America and worked at a few restaurants as a cook. Now that he is retired, he spends his time sharing his love for cooking with the world through his YouTube cooking show and website entitled Orsara Recipes. Cooking is his number one passion, and he wants to share that passion with everyone.
RMH provides a “home away from home” for families of seriously ill children receiving care at medical facilities near our locations. “Chef Pasquale brought our families together for a wonderful evening and a dinner filled with incredible aromas, lively conversation and a incredible dinner they will not soon forget.” said Siedentop.
