Community Families Celebrate Thanksgiving Dinner at Concordance

LONG BRANCH: Children from community families came together to read aloud the story of the first Thanksgiving celebrated in America. Their listeners were the many families enjoying the holiday dinner and festivity at the Long Branch Concordance Family Success Center headquarters which is located at the St. James church on Broadway.

The annual Thanksgiving celebration featured games and crafts for the children as families enjoyed a delicious buffet of traditional turkey, gravies, seasonal vegetables and traditional cranberry sauce. Treats included pumpkin and apple pies.

Several of the families brought special cultural foods and treats - tacos, tamales, rice dishes to share with friends who participate in Success Center programs together during the year,

Children enjoyed games and crafts with assistance from community volunteers from Monmouth University, students and other volunteer agencies, along with assistance from the St. James staff.
