LONG BRANCH: The owners and developers of Pier Village have announced that the final phase of the oceanfront retail/residential project will begin construction soon.
The final stage, located just south of the existing development, will include new oceanfront condominiums, a boutique hotel, new dining and shopping options, and public recreational amenities.
The developers will bridge the gap between the existing Pier Village boardwalk and the new one built by the city as well. The new and expanded public boardwalk will feature a carousel, a stage for community events, shade structures, public restrooms, and a children's play area with a mist park. Also included in the plans are additional public parking spaces and new stairways and ramps to provide beach access.
The new hotel will have a food and beverage component, oceanfront event space, and a luxury spa.
"This new phase of Pier Village will bring unmatched quality, resort-inspired living, and urban sophistication to an already beloved destination on the Jersey Shore," said Tamar Rothenberg, Senior VP of Marketing for Extell Development Company in a press release. "This is a place where residents and visitors can come to spend time with friends and family while enjoying all of the beachfront activities and of course, the ocean view."
"Pier Village is a town center, where both locals and visitors gather to eat, shop and play by the shore throughout the year. We've curated new restaurants and retailers that represent the best New Jersey and New York have to offer," said Nicole Kushner Meyer, Principal at Kushner. "We're thrilled to launch this next phase with unparalleled public amenities for the entire community alongside a boutique hotel and luxury residences."
The developers say that the centerpiece of this new phase is The Lofts Pier Village--269 luxury oceanfront homes- and the boutique hotel.
The services and amenities at The Lofts Pier Village will include concierge service, an expansive pool deck complete with a lap pool, cabanas and towel service, an outdoor lounge area with fire pits and grills, a children's playroom, residents lounge, private state-of-the-art fitness center with a yoga studio, and men's and women's locker rooms. The residences also offer on-site covered parking and bike storage.
The sales center, located at 82 Ocean Avenue, is scheduled to open in June with first occupancy expected in about two years.
The Long Branch Planning Board greenlit the project last July by granting the Kushner Companies and Extell Development final site plan and subdivision approval. Since that time, they have been in negotiations with the city to execute a final redevelopment agreement. That agreement will likely be discussed and voted upon at a future meeting of the Long Branch Council.
