Easter at Pier Village

Long Branch: A huge crowd arrived In Pier Village to enjoy a long anticipated spring weather day. Festivities included inflatable toy rides, games of skills for youngsters and treats of all kinds for kids as well as grownups. The plaza was teeming with visitors and stores and restaurants were busy with shoppers.

The main event was the egg toss for children in several age groups- preschool to kindergarten, first to fourth and the final "Big Kids" group. Pockets and paper bags were filled to the top by youngsters scrambling to get eggs-some with surprises inside. And of course the Easter Bunny was there to add to the fun- He sure does get around Long Branch!

Estimates put the crowd at around $1000, with about 600 participants on the beach. About a third of those were parents and other adults who helped keep the youngsters focused and assured there was, "no pushing."

Mayor Adam Schneider was on the boardwalk welcoming the guests and inviting them all to come again as warm weather approaches to enjoy all the City has to offer- beaches and ocean swimming, evenings of music events though-out the City.

NJ Senator from the 11th District, Vin Gopal joined the Mayor to promote Monmouth County and the many pleasantries to be found here.

The event was over by 3pm but many visitors stayed to enjoy the decent weather on the Boardwalk and beach.
