LONG BRANCH: March 29 was a Sunday, the one before Easter Sunday, the time each year when Seashore Day Camp, the Long Branch Chamber of Commerce and the city sponsors a child's delight, the Annual Easter Egg Hunt.
About 100 youngsters from walking age to 12-ish searched through the hay that was covering the park lawn to find the elusive Golden Egg or just grab as many as they could. For those who did there was also a chocolate bunny prize. For all there was a sunny fun time with friends, some from last year's Egg Hunt.
Parents helped out the younger ones and many photos were taken as the children searched enthusiastically for the hidden oval objects. The cool air in the early spring weather meant coats and hats, but no less joy.
Word on the Shore took photos of few of the contestants; some with Easter Bunny, too. There was 2½-year-old Isabella with her daddy. There was 1-year-old Lia giving the high-five to Easter Bunny as her mom lifted her for the assist. For another photo, Anthony was impressed with the huge carrot the Easter Bunny held as they posed for a snapshot.
This thirtieth year celebration was another success.
