Eatontown Turns Pink For Breast Cancer Awareness

EATONTOWN: Woodmere School in the borough became Pinkmere School on May 17 as families took part in the local "Paint The Town Pink" event.

This was one of a series of activities in approximately 40 towns in Monmouth and Ocean County which encourages women to get their annual mammogram.

There were a wide variety of fun activities for kids including sack races, face painting and a "Pink Your Ride" bike decorating contest in which kids decorated their bikes with a pink theme. The event concluded with the "Pinktown's Got Talent" competition. There were several great acts with the judges, Mayor Dennis Connelly, Councilman Mark Regan and Councilman Richard Robinson, ultimately deciding on residents Samantha and Victoria as the winners for their great version of Let It Go.

Also on hand where members of the Eatontown Fire Department. Kids and adults alike where able to get an up close look at one of the department's fire trucks. Vendors included Max's Famous Hot Dogs and Uncle Timmy's Ice Cream Truck. Demonstrations where provided by students of Aerials Gymnastics of Eatontown and Master Torres Black Dragons also of Eatontown.
