Festa Italiana for Italy Quake Victims

LONG BRANCH: Each year about his time, the end of summer, a bunch of friends of Italian ancestry get together in Tony Olivadotti's back yard for a feast, homemade pasta, cheese from Italy, prosciutto, tripe and salad, lots of salad.

And Italian musica: "Volare" "Amore", (When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie") and more. It became an event of Sinatra, Vic Damone, Dino Martin, Tony Benedetto, Perry Como and an album full of Italian songsters played in "voce alta" on the stereo.

And vino, each brings along to add to the fellowship.

This summer party was Sunday at Tony's as traditional. But this year was also created the opportunity to add Italy itself, the cities where the recent earthquake hit, and the aftershocks. The added cause for the day was a chance to remember today the traditions of caring and helping their "antenati", forefathers in Italian.

He planned list of about 30 which became double that as the rumor mills let others know about the special purpose, the giving Help to the earthquake victims. More locals from the city and towns around were added, "and more will be welcome" said the celebrants at Tony's place.

The list is growing and by end of day, Sunday it included: Mary Pat Angelini, Dr. Joseph Basilone, Ricardo Bottino, Joe Caputo, Dr. Joseph Cauda, Ralph Ciambrone, Michelle Critelli, Frank Crupi, Emmanuel DiPasquale, Joseph Ferraina, Anthony Giordano, Terry Janeczek, Dr. Chris Johnson, Anne MarieLisa, Johnny Marra, John Pallone, Lucy Perez, Vi Peters, Joseph Sirianni, Vincent Tesauro, Janet Tucci, Sarah Villane, Rose Widdis, Ralph Ciambrone, Joe Sirianni, Frank Crupi, Dr. Chris Johnson, Emmanuel DiPasquale(the city's Poet Laureate), Joe Ferraina, Jack Caputo, Anthony Giordano, Joe Cauda, Ricardo Bottino, Ralph Marra, John Pallone, Mary Pat Angelini, Michelle Critelli, Anne Marie L:isa Perez, Vi Peters, Janet Tucci, Sarah Villane, Rose Widdis, Dr. Joseph Basilone, and probably more as this list was being developed.
