Foodies Place Bets On "Truck Wars"

Oceanport:  Over 30,000 hungry people descended on Monmouth Park this past weekend for the two-day “Truck Wars” event, which featured approximately 30 different mobile food vendors.  Foodies with various palates feasted on: falafel, ribs, cheese stakes, seafood, soda, ice cream and Italian ice.  Those of age partook in trying various beers and wines as well.

The rain couldn’t keep food lovers away on Saturday, and those that came also came back on Sunday.   Monmouth Park reported that a little fewer than 24,000 people came to the park that day to enjoy the racing action, and of course, the food trucks.

Events like these are a huge draw for the park.  When asked how much events like these impact wages, race officials would only say that the numbers are up because of the volume of people at the park for this two-day event.
