The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the mid-Atlantic region, which includes Monmouth County, for the evening of Friday-Jan. 22 through early Sunday, Jan. 24.
The service's Jan. 21 5 a.m. forecast now calls for 14 inches of snow for the county; doubling the amount of snow that was predicted earlier in the week.
Gusty winds are expected throughout the storm, with the strongest at the coast.
There is a high probability of moderate to major coastal flooding in the area.
We'll post an update to this story as soon as the National Weather Service provides one.
