Former Eatontown Wendy's Finds A New Tenant

It took nearly three years, but the space that was once filled by a Wendy's in Eatontown has found a new tenant.

A Popeyes Lousiana Chicken fastfood restaurant will open in the coming months at 25 Route 35, Eatontown. The Wendy's at the location has been closed since November, 2013.

Eatontown Borough Administrator George Jackson said the new owners have secured the necessary permits and have begun construction to convert the location into a Popeyes. No planning or zoning board approval is needed for the project to move forward.

Popeyes is a fried chicken fast food restaurant with roots in New Orleans, LA. It has menu items similar to Kentucky Fried Chicken, but many of the sides have more of a cajun theme including red beans and rice.
