EATONTOWN: Fort Monmouth’s golf course, Suneagles, and its associated banquet and restaurant have a new manager.
Atlantic Golf Management was once again approved as the manager of the golf course by the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA). The company had its original management contract rescinded by FMERA after a challenge by another management company revealed that Atlantic Golf Management failed to pay additional revenue it was required to under the contract.
The new contract will allow Atlantic Golf Management to provide management and maintenance services for an initial 12-month period. FMERA can extend the contact on a month-to-month basis if a buyer for golf course is not selected in the 12-month period.
FMERA is expected to issue a request for offers to purchase (RFOTP) for the golf course in the next few months.
If a buyer is found during Atlantic Golf Management’s 12-month lease, FMERA can terminate the contract without penalty.
Atlantic Golf Management will be responsible for making any necessary improvements to the golf course, leasing new golf carts and operating Gibbs Hall and the 19th Hole Sports Bar on the property.
FMERA had been running the day-to-day operations for the golf course and its amenities since Aug. 2013, before awarding the management contract in February.
