LONG BRANCH: A favorite of the West End Park Sunday night Bands by the Beach summer programs performed with energy and attraction as the lawn was filled with what looked like a Dance-A-thon this week.
The band, Soul Project was at the band shell on a sunny summer evening with about 400 guests on blankets and folding chairs, at least those not bare foot on the grass swinging and swaying.
Soul Project has a new album and played some of the numbers to the delight of all.
The 50-50 went off with a $400 take, and the kids' rides were busy as was the bocce court.
Restaurants along Brighton Avenue were serving tasty foods at the sidewalk tables, a nice touch for hungry music lovers.
For safety the police were on watch with the street closed off to vehicular traffic.
All was well in Fun City.
