The Monmouth County DWI task force will conduct a checkpoint in Deal on Friday night, May 26.
The checkpoint will run from 10 p.m. Friday until 2 a.m. Saturday, May 27 on Ocean Avenue in Deal. Task force members and officers from the Deal Police Department will be pulling vehicles from the northbound lanes into the Deal Casino Beach Club parking lot to determine driver's sobriety,
The New Jersey State Police will also be running a DWI checkpoint in the area of Belmar and Neptune on Saturday, May 27, but did not give a specific time or location.
"Our advice to you is that if you plan on drinking, have a designated driver, arrange for transportation, or stay where you are," a New Jersey State Police Facebook page post states. "If you take our advice, you won't have to worry about this not-so-sneaky checkpoint."
