LBMS "Soundwaves" Choir Serenade at Local Rotary

LONG BRANCH: The Long Branch Middle School "Soundwaves" Choir serenaded at the meeting of the Long Branch Rotary Club the week before Christmas with a medley of holiday songs celebrating Christmas, Chanukah and Kwanza.

"Our Seventh and Eighth Graders did a great job with only one week to rehearse,' said Choir Director Howard Whitehouse.

The group was happily applauded by the Rotarians during their performance. Other guests in at Rooney's Crab House at the oceanfront where the club meets each week also enjoyed the music of the group.

The Long Branch Rotary Club has also awarded scholarships to high schools seniors each year.

"We welcome the opportunity to encourage our students to visit us and to go on with their education," said Rotary President Brian Berry.

These traditions have gone on over the years in the club's appreciation of students from local schools.
