Long Branch Auto Repair Shop Damaged By Fire

LONG BRANCH: A fire severely damaged an auto repair shop in Long Branch on Thursday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 12:30 at John's Auto and Truck Repair at 505 Joline Ave., just across the railroad tracks, on July 9.

The blaze was extinguished in just under an hour and the highway and several nearby streets were closed as a result. All roadways were reopened by 1:45 p.m.

Long Branch Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck said one of the shop's mechanics suffered minor burns injuries to his arms but that no major injuries were reported.
