Long Branch Enjoys National Night Out

Long Branch: Tuesday evening was National Nite Out for the City at Slocum Park next to the library. The weather could not have been better, warm and comfy.

There was hundreds of kids and escorts for festivities that come each year with the hosting of the Police Department, Emergency Services, and Public Works, First Aid and the many groups and agencies reaching out to meet the resident.

Kids could climb in a fire engine - wow- and touch a real truck they see in their neighborhoods every week but cannot get real close.

With this article are a sample of the scene with games of skill, and a big favorite, the Police Patrol Canine exhibit, where 3 year old Hades showed off for everyone to see with Officer Axel to help Hades demonstrate how a well-trained dog can help in any situations.

National Night Out activities is a Tuesday evening. Many communities help the public to citizenry know about them and their work on the community's behalf.

This 30 year old event in the country was first brought to Long Branch 15 years ago, a first in the state.
