Long Branch Morris Avenue Beach Entrance Now Closed

LONG BRANCH: Another Long Branch beach entrance is now closed due to the ongoing boardwalk construction project.

Morris Avenue Beach access is now closed, and now the remaining beach entrances south of Pier Village are at Melrose Terrace and Cottage Place.

There are temporary bathrooms available in the lot between Morris Avenue and Melrose Terrace as well.

The city has also announced additional road closures along the oceanfront as the contractor's machinery continues to move northward.

Ocean Avenue from Morris Avenue to Melrose Terrace will be closed to all vehicular traffic immediately. There will be sidewalk access for pedestrians.

Construction fencing will be erected on the beach from North Bath Avenue to Pavilion Avenue, and will be extended to Morris Avenue soon.

Long Branch Business Administrator Howard Woolley has said with a "decent winter" the boardwalk reconstruction project should be able to be substantially completed before Memorial Day.
