Long Branch, Sea Bright Plan Halloween Events This Weekend

With Halloween falling on a weekday this year, some local towns have decided to hold events over the weekend to give children more time to enjoy the October holiday.

• Sea Bright Recreation is holding its annual Trunk Or Treat event in the municipal parking lot on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 4 p.m..

Trunk Or Treat will give trick-or-treaters the chance to go "car-to-car" instead of door-to-door to get their candy. Cars will be decorated and their trunks will be open and filled with Halloween treats.

There will also be pumpkin painting, games and a live DJ on hand.

A Sea Bright EMS Parade and costume contest will follow at 6 p.m. This one is for children and adults and will also feature prizes for the best costumes.

In the event of rain, the festivities will be moved to the following day, Oct. 29.

To register, email dklein@seabrightnj.org.

• The Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce is hosting its annual Fall Festival and Pooch Parade on Saturday, Oct. 28 at 11 a.m. at Pier Village.

The event will feature a costumed pooch parade at noon and a children's costume parade at 2 p.m.

There will also be a fishing tournament, bouncy rides, touch a truck and arts and crafts.
