LONG BRANCH: The city has announced that local businessman and musician Tim McLoone will be the recipient of this year's Luis G. Libutti Award.

McLoone, and other local residents and and businesses, will be honored during a ceremony on Friday, March 11 at Ocean Place Resort & Spa.

The award was established in 1970 to commemorate Louis G. Libutti, a former president of the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce. Exemplary leadership, outstanding professional achievement and community service are the criteria for the award.

McLoone owns McLoone's Restaurants which are located in Long Branch, Red Bank, Tinton Falls, Sea Bright and other New Jersey towns. He also founded the band The Shirleys which performs locally each year and Holiday Express, a volunteer, non-profit and non-sectarian organization dedicated to bringing music, gifts and holiday cheer to those less fortunate

We'll post more information about the Libutti Awards as soon it is announced by the chamber of commerce.
