Long Branch Welcomes Holiday Season

LONG BRANCH: Santa Claus arrived at Pier Village on Sunday, Nov. 27 on a bell-ringing fire truck with the help of the fire department who are always ready to help.

Waiting for Santa was a huge gathering of children with eyes aglow and smiles to match.

The Long Branch High School Band, Twirlers and the Wave Dancers were at Patriot Square in the Village Center to entertain as Santa was on his way.

The Tim McLoone and the Shirleys Band was on stage with their season's greetings in song, part of the repertoire the band. The well-known Holiday Express volunteers also performs to delight various groups all over the state at orphanages and other agencies each holiday season, with 50 or more performances each year.

The square was adorned with Christmas decorations, a hot chocolate stop, and the new ice rink just added to the center of Pier Village. The rink had plenty of attraction from all ages as the evening activities began.

Introducing the Holiday Express and welcoming the crowd to the city were Long Branch Councilwoman Joy Bastelli and Councilwoman Kate Billings.
