Long Branch, West Long Branch Shootings Still Under Investigation

LONG BRANCH: Police are still investigating three shooting incidents that occurred in the city and West Long Branch last weekend.

According to Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Spokesman Charles Webster, there was a shots fired incident on Rockwell Avenue in Long Branch with no victims found on the scene on Friday, Jan. 13. There are currently no suspects, arrests or charges related to that incident.

Webster said that later that night two men showed up at Monmouth Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries after being shot at the LaQuinta Motel on Route 36 in West Long Branch. That incident also has no suspects, arrests or charges.

On Monday afternoon, Jan. 16, there was another shots fired incident in Long Branch around Ludlow Street.

Long Branch Director of Public Safety Jason Roebuck said details on the situation are not known at this time, but he said shots were fired at the scene and that two cars may have been involved. A nearby neighbor said as many as 6 shots may have been fired.

Webster said that incident also has no victims, suspects, arrests or charges.

"There is no evidence tying the three incidents together," Webster told Word On The Shore.
