Longtime Eatontown Councilman To Run For Mayor

EATONTOWN: A longtime borough councilman will be running for mayor this year.

Councilman Anthony Talerico, an Independent, is seeking his first term as mayor after serving for nine years on the dais including four years as council president.

Republican Mayor Dennis Connelly has not yet announced if he will be running for reelection this year and no other candidates have come forward at this time.

Talerico is a self-employed forensic accountant, and is a lifelong borough resident and a 16-year member of the Eatontown First Aid Squad.

Independent Councilwoman Virginia East has also announced that she will be running for reelection this year along with newcomer Ralph Anderson. No other candidates has announced their intentions as of this time.

The deadline for candidates to file to run in the 2018 election is April 2.
