A contract has been awarded for the work on the turf field at Manahasset Creek Park on Long Branch Ave. The field was damaged by two feet of water during Hurricane Sandy. The work will start Monday with hopes of having it complete and open by Labor Day so soccer and football can be played at the fields in September. FEMA will reimburse the city for a large portion of the work. The City is also working on a Green Acres application for funds to make some other repairs including fencing and trees that were also damaged by Sandy.
