Little Silver: On a recent spring night, the students at Markham Place School showed off their creative side. It was the annual Art Show where more than 1,200 pieces of art were on display. The building was buzzing with activity, artwork was hung throughout the halls; and in the Media Center the PTO held their annual Book Fair. In nearby classrooms, students presented their STEM+ projects under the direction of Mrs. Flynn.
Students in grades 5th through 8th sheparded parents, siblings and friends through the hallways to show off their works of art. There was digital photography, scrimshaw drawings and kinetic sculptures to name but a few of the mediums. Under the direction of Mrs. Bennett and Miss Brush, the MPS Chamber Choir, Jazz Band and Strings provided live entertainment.
The PTO provided snacks and there was even a raffle to win art supplies. After checking out art and science projects, students could make their way to the Media Center to select their summer reading. Representatives from Barnes & Noble in Eatontown were on hand to help you make your selections. It was an evening of one stop shopping at MPS.
