Mass Transit Closings - Commuter Alert

Atlantic Highlands:  ALL SEASTREAK SERVICE IS SUSPENDED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE AFTER THE LAST DEPARTURE ON 10/27.

Due to the intensity and the projected path of hurricane Sandy, NYC DOT has made the decision to secure all landing facilities effective Sunday, October 28th.  As a result, all Seastreak service between Monmouth County, New Jersey, and New York City for Sunday, October 28th will be cancelled  Seastreak will attempt to resume normal service as soon as possible once the storm has passed.  Seastreak may need to conduct service in and out of Word Financial Center until the ramps are re-connected by NYC DOT at the Pier 11 and East 35th St. facilities.Seastreak will send e-mail  updates which will detail any additional weather related service alerts.  Seastreak will also publish updates detailing any additional weather related service alerts at http://www.seastreak.com/servicealerts.aspx.

In preparation for Hurricane Sandy Seastreak requests that customers remove all automobiles from our Conner's Highlandslocation by Sunday evening 11pm. 

New Bedford Advisory for Sunday 10/28/2012  

3:45pm departure from New Bedford will be cancelled 

5:15pm departure from Vineyard Haven will be cancelled 


New York City:  The New York MTA will shut down all mass transit systems beginning at 7pm this evening, October 28th and will remain closed until the storm has passed.

New Jersey Transit:  New Jersey Transit has suspended all bus, rail, light rail and Access Link service until further notice while the area deals with Hurricane Sandy.   NJT will let notify commuters of resumption of service once the storm has passed.   Commuters can expect service to be out until Wednesday given the hours needed to bring services back on line and to full operation.

 

PATH (Newark-Jersey City-Hoboken-NYC):  PATH Train service has been suspended between New Jersey and New York until further notice.
