Oceanport:Monmouth Park seems to always be bringing new and exciting things to their fans and families who enjoy thoroughbred racing and its excitement and pageantry.
John Heims, Media Affairs Director for Monmouth Park, recently announced the project underway to build a miniature golf course on the grounds of the park. The two 18-hole courses on the northern part of the park grounds are in close proximity to the race cote and picnic seating that borders the home stretch.
It's been named Bluegrass Miniature Golf, and enthusiasts can select from the “Monmouth Course” or the “Triple Crown Course”. It opened today, September 30th and provides more family entertainment for the Jersey Shore.
According to Heims both courses will be ADA compliable and will be lighted for nighttime play. The courses are complete with water obstacles, crossover bridges, and other mini attractions. It will be open seven days a week, weather permitting, through Oct. 31st. From Monday through Friday the course hours are noon to 8pm. On Saturday and Sunday the hours are 10 to 10.
The cost is $8 per round of 18 holes or $12 to play both courses. Children 6 to 12 play for half-price, and in keeping with a family theme, children under six are free. A special entrance off Port au Peck Avenue takes players to free mini golf parking.
