Monmouth Beach Man In Critical Condition After Explosion

MONMOUTH BEACH: A borough man is in critical condition following an explosion this weekend.

The 56-year-old resident, who has not been identified by police, was reportedly filling a tire with air using a compress when the tire exploded a shard of the metal rim hit him in the head on Saturday, Oct. 10.

The man was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center (JSMC) in Neptune where he underwent surgery and is currently in the intensive care unit, according to NJ.com.

"The patient remains in critical condition at JSMC," according to the Monmouth Beach Police Facebook page. "Thank you to everyone for their concern. Please keep the patient in your thoughts and prayers."
