Monmouth Road Paving Rescheduled For April 28

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: Monmouth County will begin improvements to Monmouth Road from West Park Avenue to Roseld Avenue on April 16. This portion of the road will be completely closed on Tuesday, April 28 from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The road was milled on the 16th and 17th, and paving was originally scheduled for last week. Striping was originally scheduled for April 24, but that will be pushed back until next week as well.

Traffic heading Monmouth Road south will be detoured west on West Park Avenue to SR 35 south to Sunset Avenue east to Wickapecko north to Corlies Avenue east.

Traffic heading Monmouth Road north will be sent east on Corlies Avenue to Norwood Avenue north to Cedar Ave west.

Traffic heading West Park Avenue east will be sent north on Monmouth Road to Cedar Avenue east, to Norwood Avenue south to Corlies Avenue west.

Traffic heading Deal Road east will be sent north on Whalepond Road to West Park Avenue, where they will follow the detour in place there.

Be advised that if the bridge is still closed on Monmouth Road once they begin the paving detail, the Whalepond/Wall St Detour will take place of the detours above.

"ROAD CLOSED, LOCAL TRAFFIC" signs will be posted at the following locations:

1.Deal Road east at Whalephond

2.Monmouth Road north at Corlies Avenue (road closure will be at JODA)

3.Monmouth Road south at Cedar Avenue (if bridge is open)

4.West Park Avenue east at Whalepond (if bridge is still closed).
