National Night Out in Long Branch August 4

LONG BRANCH: A big thanks to Long Branch Police Officer Joe Graziano for this "heads up" that this year's National Night Out Against Crime will be at Slocum Park next to the library on Broadway on the evening of Aug. 4, from 6-9 p.m.

The annual event is both serious and happy, and features a martial arts demo, a police K-9 demo, a " touch-a-truck" demo for kids, and the Monmouth County Ident-A-Kid Mobile Unit.

There will be information tables from the several agencies in the community including the library and businesses that provide services of various kinds to serve the community.

There will also be free pizza, hot dogs, sub-sandwiches, desserts, cakes, and a variety of beverages.

"So please come out and enjoy this community block party filled with fun, food, and excitement as the city is promoting crime prevention and unity throughout the town of Long Branch," Graziano said.

The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) will be sponsoring the night.
