Nearly 8,000 Participate In New Jersey Marathon, Half Marathon

The following is a press release concerning the New Jersey Marathon:

Robert Dennis from Lawrence Township, NJ won the male professional division in 2:33:15 and Greta Sieve from Lawrence Township, NJ won the female professional division in 2:53:05 at today's 2016 Novo Nordisk New Jersey Marathon.

Nearly 8,000 athletes competed in the marathon and half marathon, which was produced and presented by Life Time - The Healthy Way of Life CompanySM.

In the male division, Christopher Desilets from Littleton, CO finished second with a time of 2:38:34, followed by third-place finisher Corey O'Neill from Westwood, NJ with a time of 2:38:44. In the female division, Kerin Hempel from New York, NY finished second with a time of 2:54:41, while Megan Papp from Farmington, CT finished third with a time of 3:04:38.

Runners ranging in age from 18 to 76 and hailing from 41 states ran along the scenic New Jersey shore and through the neighborhoods of Oceanport, Monmouth Beach, Long Branch, Deal, Allenhurst, Loch Arbour, Asbury Park and Ocean Grove before crossing the finish line at Long Branch Ocean Promenade.

Race day also included a half marathon along the same course. Race weekend kicked off with the Health and Fitness Expo on Friday, April 29, and the Barnabas Health Kids and Family Festival on Saturday, April 30 where a 5K run, Kids Fun Runs for ages 2-8, and other family activities were enjoyed by all.
