TINTON FALLS:A private, all-girls Catholic high school will relocate to Fort Monmouth next year.
The Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority (FMERA) approved a purchase and sale and redevelopment agreement with Trinity Hall, Inc. during its Oct. 21 meeting.
Trinity, a 501c3 non-profit, is purchasing and renovating the Child Development Center located in the Tinton Falls Reuse area of the former fort for $2 million and make $500,000 in renovations to the property. The group's current facility is currently located in Leonardo, but all students and staff will relocate to the Tinton Falls location in 2016, once renovations are complete.
Originally, the Tinton Falls School District intended to purchase the 7.4-acre property to build a new school, but opted to withdraw its interest in 2014.
Trinity was the highest scoring proposal among two other applicants; The Yeshiva School and CommVault, which already owns a large parcel at the fort in Tinton Falls.
According to the resolution passed by FMERA, Trinity will relocate 22 existing jobs and create a minimum of 100 additional full-time jobs at the school within 48 months of closing or pay a penalty of $1,500 per job.
Once all its approvals are in place, renovations will begin within 45 days of closing and construction must be completed within 2 years. FMERA can repurchase the property from Trinity if these timelines are not met.
Building 2290 where the school will ultimately be located is right off of Hope Road just south of CommVault.
