Ocean Getty Robbed: Suspect Caught

Ocean Township Police arrested a 33-year-old Long Branch man and charged him with the robbery of the Ocean Getty station on Hwy 35 in Wanamassa. He allegedly threatened a gas station employee with a knife and took off with money and cigarettes, according to police reports.

The Getty employee called police around 10:45pm Wednesday night to report the crime. Police and k-9 dogs combed that area but could not locate the suspect. An investigation by police later on enabled them to locate the robber and question him.

He was later charged with armed robbery and possession of a weapon with bail set at $150,000.
