OCEAN TOWNSHIP: The following is a press release from the Ocean Township Police:
The Township of Ocean Police Department has received 36 body worn cameras (BWC's) under a JAG Grant administered by the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office, and New Jersey Attorney General's Office. The BWC's called Body Vision XV manufactured by L3 Mobile-Vision, Boonton, N.J. were received in mid-November 2016. The cameras comply with Attorney General Law Enforcement Directive 2015-1 for police BWC's and retention.
The BWC's integrate seamlessly into the L3 Mobile-Vision Flashback mobile video system already being used in the police department vehicles, as they share a common storage server and back end management platform for the retention and processing of video for court and other required uses.
The BWC's were placed into service on December 9, 2016 beginning with the Day Shift Officers. For further information and a picture of an officer wearing a body worn camera please visit our website at www.oceantwp.org/police.
