Ocean Township Value City Being Demolished, More Retail Coming

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: The vacant Value City in the Seaview Square Shopping Center is being demolished to make way for more retail.

Seaview Acquisition, LLC, has been given final site plan approval to demolish the existing 2-story building by the Ocean Township Planning Board during its Nov. 2 meeting. The developer will reconstruct one story of 65,629 +/- square feet of retail and supermarket building space along with associated site improvements.

The developer was also granted several variances for parking, signage and the size of its landscape islands.

Township Manager Andrew Brannen said the tenants for the new building have not yet been finalized, but he said an announcement could be made by the beginning of 2017, "if not sooner."

Brannen said the old building will be demolished "in the next week or so."
