Ocean Townspeople to Hear Development Plans for Hwy 35-Deal Road Project

OCEAN TOWNSHIP: A presentation for a new land development project in the area of Highway 35 and Deal Road will be offered to residents and interested parties on Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. at the Ocean Township High School auditorium.

It will be a revised plan reflecting several changes. Click here to read more about the proposed changes.

An earlier plan proposal was presented in April, 2017 to the public at the auditorium by Mr. Maurice Zekaria, a local resident and developer Paramount Reality principal. Zekaria took this developer action to encourage feedback from townspeople.

Although some members of the public said they were not aware, some feedback thus far has come back, mainly from public inquiry at Ocean Council meetings. Mayor Chris Siciliano has aided public awareness by helping facilitate the high school venue.

Council remains silent on taking any official position.

Earlier in the year, the council began working on a review of the town's land use rules, the Master Plan, in an attempt to bring it up to date. The state requires such actions every ten years to keep the plan current. A recent change is pending.

On Jan. 4, Paramount will again explain its intentions, which currently reflect changes in the original April plan. Paramount's plans have not yet been filed with the Ocean Township Planning Board.
