A proposal to build an equestrian facility in Oceanport has taken off the table.
Oceanport Councilwoman Patricia Cooper said at the May 19 council meeting said that the developer, James Mazza, has withdrawn their proposals to develop a vacant, 6.4-acre property located at 275 Port Au Peck Ave.
The plans included a 20,000-square-foot horse barn with 10 stalls that would be available for leasing, which would have required a use variance from the Oceanport Planning Board.
The developer presented plans to the board in April, but has chosen not to move forward at this time. Cooper said just because the plans have been withdrawn does not mean that the application will not be reintroduced in the future.
