Peter Pan Takes Over MPS

Little Silver:  What happens when you mix pirates and mermaids, Indians and lost boys, throw in a story teller, some pixie dust and a little boy who doesn’t want to grow up? Well you get Peter Pan, Jr. at Markham Place School in Little Silver.

Once again, Anna Files and the Files Production Company pulled off an amazing production. The Files Production Company consists of a family who spends many nights and weekends putting together the show. To make the show come alive they create incredible backgrounds, costumes and props.

Not sure how they will top this year’s production where Peter and the Darling children actually fly. With a live pit band directed by Ms. Jennifer Brush and piano accompanist Karen Feeney, the music was wonderful. MPS alumni came back to play, Hannah Sauer ’12, Will Cronin ’12 and Joseph Ferguson ’12 all helped out, with current students to round out the band. Catherine Perry also an alum of MPS helped with the choreography of the show.

Peter Pan was played by Kathleen Patterson, Tinker Bell was played by Erin Ostrowski, the Darling Children who were in fact darling were Hannah McLoone (Wendy), Jay Izzo (Michael) and Max Portman (John), and their dedicated nanny, Nana played by Anna Cuozzo. Captain Hook (Brendan Loftus) and his sidekick Smee (Marc Brewer) stole the show more than once with “The Crocodile”, (Josh Goldsmith).

The PTO provided snacks at intermission and pictures with the characters. Hopefully you have a ticket for Friday or Saturday night’s performances because both nights are SOLD OUT. Kudos to the entire cast, crew and pit band for a job well done! There wasn't enough room to name everybody, you know who you are and hopefully the pictures will take care of the lack of names!
