Police, Prosecutor's Office Still Investigating Fatal Long Branch Accident

LONG BRANCH: Authorities are still investigating a fatal accident which occurred in the city on Nov. 27.

A 37-year-old Long Branch man was struck and killed Friday along Ocean Avenue in front of Ursula Plaza.

Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office Public Information Officer Charles Webster said the Long Branch Police responded to a 9:57 p.m. report of a man in the roadway.

"An investigation determined the man was struck and killed by a 2015 Jeep Wrangler being operated by a 19-year-old Long Branch woman," Webster said.

The victim's name is not being released as of 12 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, pending notification of next of kin.

Webster said no charges have been filed at this time, but the investigation is ongoing.
