LONG BRANCH: West End will truly be going to the dogs this weekend as the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce hosts its sixth annual Block Party and Pooch Parade on Sept. 27.
The event will be held in West End Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will feature fire truck rides, bounce houses, scarecrow building, Touch A Truck and the pooch parade where registered dogs and their owners will walk down Brighton Avenue to show off their canines.
Pooch parade participants must register their dogs before the event. Registration forms can be found at Vanity Fur at 82 Brighton Ave., and the Greater Long Branch Chamber of Commerce office at 228 Broadway.
Participants can also register at the Chamber's kiosk which will be set up at West End Park on the day of the event.
There is a $5 registration fee and all proceeds will go to the Wag On Inn of Oakhurst, a volunteer group that finds homes for dogs and cats.
