SEA BRIGHT: One of the borough's most popular restaurants will be opening a second location some time later this year.
Woody's Ocean Grille Co-Owner Chris Wood told Word On The Shore that he and his business partner, Peter Forlenza, plan on opening another restaurant in Tinton Falls.
"We're excited to go in there," Wood said. "It's a tremendous site with incredible bones."
The new restaurant will be located at the former home of Moose's Tavern and Charlie Brown's at 1202 Sycamore Ave., Tinton Falls.
Moose's Tavern closed earlier this year and Wood immediately took the opportunity to occupy the space for his new restaurant, which will also be called Woody's Ocean Grille.
It will serve similar food which Wood calls "California coastal cuisine with a southwestern flare."
"We're looking to bring the same experience to Tinton Falls that we have in Sea Bright," Wood said.
He said the interior and exterior restaurant are currently being renovated and that he hopes to have the restaurant open by late summer, possibly September.
The new restaurant may also feature outdoor dining, but Wood would need to seek approval from the Tinton Falls Planning Board to do so.
Woody's Ocean Grille opened the day after Hurricane Irene, Aug. 29 2011, at the former Ichabod's Bar and Grill property, 1 E. Church St. It was one of the first borough businesses to reopen following Hurricane Sandy after much of the building was gutted and repaired.
