RBR and Sickles Market Launches the Battle of the Classes Sandwich Contest

Little Silver:   An all-day contest selling sandwiches will be staged at Sickles markets to introduce its new RBR Signature Sandwich Line. A portion of the proceeds from the sandwich sales will benefit the RBR Education Foundation and individual RBR classes (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior) who each developed their own signature sandwich in consultation with Sickles.

RBR and Sickles Market in Little Silver have joined forces to create the Battle of the Classes’ Sandwich Contest to benefit the students of Red Bank Regional High School which is also located in Little Silver. Sickles is selling four RBR designed Signature Sandwiches, created by the high school’s individual classes, with a portion of proceeds donated to the classes as well as the RBR Education Foundation. The classes will utilize the funds to defray their activity expenses such as prom costs. The RBR Education Foundation provides grants to fund educational resources and programs for RBR students. The winner of the most-sold sandwiches will be announced at the popular RBR Battle of the Classes spring-time event!

Sickles Markets owner Bob Sickles and his staff will join RBR staff, students and administration (including Superintendent Jim Stefankiewicz and Principal Risa Clay) to participate in the contest. RBR Education Foundation executive board members (including President Paul Noglows, and Event Chairman Stuart Tartarone) will also be on-hand. Local dignitaries include Little Silver Mayor Robert Neff, Jr. and Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon.

The contest will be held Saturday, February 11, from 11 am to 1 pm, in conjunction with Sickles Annual Artist Weekend festivities.  Several Visual and Performing Art students will participate in the festivities including the RBR Clarinet Quartet. RBR student artists will display their works at the concurrent Artist Weekend program.  Sickles will be turning their greenhouse area into a gallery this weekend with artwork from RBR students and local artists on display and available for purchase.

Sickles Markets Greenhouse is located at 1 Harrison Avenue, just off Rumson Road in Little Silver.
