RBR Relay for Life

Little Silver:  It was a great turn out at RBR, the field inside the trap was laced and covered with tents and people there to support the cause. In addition to individual supporters  there was corporate support from local realtors, AT&T, and many others.

Relay for Life is an over night relay event where teams of people camp out around the track and each team member is on the track at some point. There was food, entertainment, and fundraising. The environment was a beautiful touching and moving one, a true experience of solidarity.

The Relay for Life started at 3:30pm and went until 5:30 this morning. The Opening Ceremonies were at 7 pm and Closing Ceremonies were conducted at Five thirty Saturday morning.  Yesterday before the Opening there was a survivors dinner and entertainment.

Every half hour or so there was also a new event for the laps. For example team captain laps, Pajama laps and wear purple lap. There also during the course of the event new entertainment to keep the "Relayers" going. Entertainers included Swashbuckler, DJ Sov, DJ Michael Canning, Jeff Macpherson’s acoustic music and even open mic poetry. There were also speakers during the event sharing their stories of fighting back against cancer.

Relay for Life is an annual event at RBR which raises thousands of dollars to help people living and surviving cancer.   This year the Two Rivers Relay for Life Team raised $54,140!   Congrats on a stellar effort for a truly worthy cause.
