RBR Theatre Company Performs 42nd Street

Little Silver:  Over the weekend the Red Bank Regional HS Theatre Company presented  42nd Street.

Although none of the cast was born in 1980 when  the original show was debuted on Broadway, you wouldn't know it. The students sang and tapped like the show was in their blood.

When Dorothy Brock (Dana Brown), an established Broadway musical star is unable to go on with the show because of a broken ankle, in steps Peggy Sawyer (Eliana Swartz) a young talented hopeful from Allentown, PA.  The show "Pretty Girl" directed by Julian Marsh (Justin Giegerich) goes on to open on Broadway with Billy Lawler (Bobby Davis), Maggie Jones (Jaci Gisondi), Bert Barry (Patrick Martini) and a host of others.

The show based on the novel by Bradford Ropes, was directed by Joe Russo, the Musical Director was Kris Zook, the orchestra was directed by Camille Thompson and the Choreographer was Gabrielle Barnett.  Carl Grillo and Claudia O'Connor teamed up as technical director and set designer to bring the audience a visually stunning backdrop.

"42nd Street" was presented by arrangement with TAMIS-WITMARK MUSIC LIBRARY, INC.
